Meet our Pastor, David

I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I graduated from Baylor University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Real Estate/Finance) in 1986, and with a Master of Business Administration in 1988. I am married to my best friend and wonderful wife, Kathy who I met while attending Baylor. God has blessed us with 5 children, 4 biological, and we adopted from Cameroon, Africa.

Upon graduating from college, I took a job with a real estate appraisal firm in Houston. I worked at Allen, Williford, and Seale for 6 years, until I felt God calling me to start my own company. Through much prayer and consultation with Kathy, I started The Ambrose Appraisal Company in 1994. Over the past 30 years, I have been extremely fortunate to receive the incredible financial blessings from God. Kathy is my partner for life and has been instrumental in the successes of our company through support, counseling, and encouragement. Kathy has been a stay at home mom for the last 32 years.

I was raised in a Christian home and regularly attended church. When I was 12 years old, I gave my life to Jesus Christ, and made a conscious decision to follow Him. Through my high school and college years, there were times when I felt really close to God but unfortunately, there were more times when I ran away from Him. This created uncertainty and confusion in my spiritual life. Because I know that God is faithful and continues to pursue us, He orchestrated certain events in my life which caused me to examine the direction I was heading and evaluate my priorities. When I was in my mid 20’s, I committed everything to God.

Over the past 35 years, God has blessed me more than I could have ever imagined, and certainly more than I deserve. He has taught me that the greatest thing I could do in this life is to become an extravagant worshipper of Him. It is what I am created to do, and through my worship of Him, I am able to see His heart for me and for other people. The more I experience the heart of God, the more I fall in love with Him, and the better equipped I am to fulfill His purpose for my life. Over the past several years, God has given me the opportunity to minister to the orphan children in Zambia, Africa and La Montagne, Haiti. I have also had the opportunity to spread the gospel in Burundi, South Mexico, and various parts of China. All of these experiences have provided much insight into God’s heart for people who all over the world, and the blessings that come with doing His work. Kathy and I attended Hope Church Houston where I served as an elder from 2010 to 2020.Over the part 4 years we have had the honor of hosting Grace of the Gathering in our home where I serve as one of the teaching pastors.
